Meet Our Advisors
Dr. Pete Erickson
Dr. Erickson got his B.S. at Mass Amherst, his M.S. at Maine, and his PhD at the University of Illinois. His areas of specialty are dairy nutrition and heifer development, he is one of the New Hampshire extension specialists. He is an academic adviser for many undergrads, masters, and doctorate students. He has many grad student research projects going on at UNH Fairchild Dairy and recently completed a project of his own looking at the finances of raising dairy-beef steers!
Dr. Drew Conroy
Dr. Conroy teaches many dairy courses including CREAM, Intro to Dairy Management, Dairy Selection, Forages, and many more. He loves spending his free time flying to Africa and working with his steers; Buck and Sam. He did his PhD project in Africa as well! He owns a small farm consisting of his steers, chickens, sheep, and the occasional milking Devon cow.
Leah Caverly
Leah is out newest advisor! She is a graduate of UNH majoring in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. She was also a former president of UNH Dairy Club and member at large for the Student Affiliate Division of the American Dairy Science Association! Leah now works at Fairchild Dairy as a full time staff, and is pictured here with her favorite cow, Belle! She loves coming up with challenging quiz bowl questions and judging classes to keep the club members on their toes.
